1963<\/h1>

Claude and Janine Olivier, whose families were both from the Domfront area, purchased La Galoti\u00e8re in 1963, intending to use the 27 hectare farm for cattle rearing.\u00a0<\/p>

Having planted apple and pear trees on the estate, the couple decided at the end of the 1970s to strat to produce cider and calvados to sell at the farm shop.<\/p>

Issu de famille originaires de la r\u00e9gion de Domfront, c\u2019est \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 70 que le couple d\u00e9cide de d\u00e9velopper la production de cidre fermier et de calvados. Afin de commencer la vente au domaine.<\/p><\/div>

1980<\/h1>

In the 1980s, the family\u2019s eldest son, Jean-Luc, liked to help picking the apples and developed a love of the cider-making process.\u00a0<\/p>

Jean-Luc d\u00e9cide de reprendre la ferme mais il n\u2019appr\u00e9cie pas beaucoup l\u2019\u00e9levage bovin. Il d\u00e9cide donc, avec son p\u00e8re de d\u00e9velopper la production de cidre et de calvados.<\/p>

A partir de 1987, Claude et son fils, plantent 2 400 pommiers hautes tiges. Ainsi que 2 hectares de pommiers et poiriers basses tiges.<\/p>

By the age of 24, Jean-Luc Olivier was producing cider, calvados, perry and apple juice.<\/p>\n

He was joined a few years later by his wife, Nathalie, who became involved in the farm shop sales.<\/p>\n

The Olivier family\u2019s estate became one of the most renowned in the Pays-d\u2019Auge and in Normandy, thanks to their passion and level of expertise.<\/p>\n

The estate covers an area of 45 hectares of orchards : 43 hectares of apple trees and 2 hectares of pear trees. With 50 varieties of Normandy and Pays-d\u2019Auge apples and 10 varieties of pears, the farm produces between 150 and 300 tonnes of fruit per year, all of which is converted on -site into La Galoti\u00e8re\u2019s range of products. <\/p>\n

Today the business in run by Jean-Luc and Nathalie Olivier, with the help of their 4 employees. <\/p>\n

Le Domaine de la Galoti\u00e8re est l\u2019un des seuls domaines \u00e0 pouvoir proposer des calvados biologiques vieux de plus de dix ans car il est certifi\u00e9 agriculture biologique depuis l\u2019an 2000. <\/p>\n

Il est \u00e9galement sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans les cidres et poir\u00e9s haut de gamme, comme la cuv\u00e9e Prestige mill\u00e9sim\u00e9e.
